Edmond "Ned" Thomas Snyder died on Friday, April 18, 2008 in an aircraft accident in the Tuolumne County wilderness. Born on June 7, 1969 in Santa Clara, California to Jerry and Roberta Snyder, he was the youngest of three children. He attended Daves Avenue School, Fisher Middle School, and graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1987.
Ned is survived by his wonderful wife Vandhana “Vicki” Vikashni Snyder and their beautiful two-year-old son, Shaan Thomas Snyder, his parents Jerry and Bobbie of Monte Sereno, Vicki’s mother Chandra Kiran and sister Ranjeeta Singh whose family cherished him as a son and brother. He is also survived by his sisters Nancy Snyder Mingelen and Wendy Snyder, his brothers-in-law Mehal Singh, David Mingelen and Ronald Stade and nieces and nephews Jasmine Stade, Aaren Stade, and Nicole Mingelen and grandmother Wilma Brain. Ned is survived by his dear friends too many to name and his beloved Labrador Retriever Klaus.
Ned was the new proud owner of Norcal Aviation, a seaplane training operation in San Andreas, California, pursuing his lifelong dream to fly in beautiful remote terrains. He was a commercial pilot for SkyWest Airlines and cargo pilot for West Air, flying Federal Express caravans. He was an instructor for many years at the West Valley Flying Club in Palo Alto. He also worked at Los Gatos Brewing Company.
He touched the lives of countless people wherever he went with his smile that radiated warmth and humor and his enthusiasm for people and life. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, April 25th at 10am at the North Sacramento Funeral Home at 725 El Camino in Sacramento. Donations can be made to Vicki Snyder. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 8th in Los Gatos, site and time to be announced.
